  • Please help with estimated Solar Evac Tube panel rating

    Hi All,

    I came across 4 brand new evac tube panels through a friend.
    There is no name, make, or model on the panels but here are the key specs...
    (I can confirm that they are a Chinese mfr but I do not know which one)

    Evac. Tube Type
    ==============
    Tube Material= Glass
    Tubes = 20
    Tube Dia = 58mm
    Tube Length = 1800mm
    Overall Panel Width= 70" (approx)
    Overall Panel Height = 76" (approx)

    I am trying to find out what the approximate max. wattage (or max btu's/hr) these panels can produce in order to decide how may I need for my application.
    When I look at various manufacturers with almost identical dimensions and number of tubes I see values ranging from 2600 btu/hr to 5000 btu/hr.
    That's quite a variance.
    Is there a "rule of thumb" for btu's (or wattage) values that you Solar H20 guru's use for estimating evac tube output based on sq.ft. area of the panel??

    (or is there any other way I can formulate a good estimate of max. panel output ?)

    Thanks,
    Veggie
Working...
