currently am trying to build solar panel for small home use...
    i have one 162 Watts 9A with 18Volts

    1. i dunno how much battery i should use when i buy. 12v or 24v?
    2. my house using around 1-2kw per days. 1kw mean 1000watts right? (not include freezer or hotwater use)
    3. if my 1st panel is 18v, another is 17v , will it damage the Solar Panel if i join them together if i double up the Amps? to 18A
    3. fast enough to recharge the battery ? How?
    4. what els can protect my solar cell inside the glass frames under the hot sun at roof top? will it break and reduce the watt or volt or amps?

HOPING TO GET SOME Green Energy
    1. am hoping 3 Cycling Fan 75watt run 8hrs per days.
    2. at list 2-3 Fluorescent light 36 watt runing 6hrs per days.
    3. using 1 computer with 500watt using at list 6hrs - 7hrs per days.
    4. some smartphone phone charge n power bank....

Sorry for my 1st Post....and my poor english, am so interested to make my own solar system
hope to get some help from expert thanks.

----Mod Note: I am going to move your post out of the thread on Are DIY Solar Panels Worth It and put it as the start of a new thread in the appropriate sub forum.
You are really asking a lot of questions about other aspects of PV system design beyond just building your own panels.

Well that is good, because it will take a lot of Green Stuff to make this happen. To generate 4.2 Kwh per day in your area will require

    Panel Wattage = 2000 watts
    80 amp MPPT controller
    24 volt 875 AH 1200 pound battery.

Just for that alone you are looking around $8600 of green stuff. In 5 years or so you get to replace the $4000 battery. Or in that same 5 years pay the POCO $400.

      Wow

1st am so sorry for posting at wrong place

so many Watt need for just for few electronic require for a small house

i think my house only can put 2pcs of 162 watt 9A 18volts solar panel...
      which is 162x2 = 324Watts 9Ax2 = 18A 18Volts with a 20A Solar Controller to charge 12v 200A battery.

      ( what can use in just 324Watts ? )

      1. Why 12v instead of 24v battery? (i tot just need Ah hight is better for solar panel)
      2. if solar panel not really same voltage, will it damage ech other solar panel?
