Mike90250 I wondered about that also ,And what fails first, the intergal BMS, or the cells ? Which ever fails, the wife will not like it with no lights.Thats why I bought individual cells . easy to replace one defective cell ,, just unbolt it

Here is a site State side that has 48v 100ah batteries http://www.lionev.com/battery_packs.html for $2320 which is about what John was quoting - Lifetime Warranty = Hope this helps.

PS - The EV DIY car forum has a lot of info on LiFePO4 cells and compare them to LA - For low voltage the simple way is to find the cell which discharges the most and monitor this with a relay - apparently this is the way it is done with LA also. As far as balancing - as long as you use a LA charger the balancer is quite a simple device that discharges back all cells to the voltage of the lowest charged cell.

Sorry DAVE that is not quite right . attached is a picture of a 48v battery with BMS built in, as you can see it just lookes like "normal" truck or large deepcycle battery

5000/51.2=98Ah at 70% DOD that's 140Ah LFP pack - I would recommend talking to this guy - mention Steve from New Zealand.

Should be US$2300 (+FGT+TAX) roughly for 100Ah 48V(16 cell) with a BMS built in.

I have 48 of these cells in my setup.
48V 400A bank, has 200A useable, so that's 9.6 kw, so I'd need 2 of those packs, and I'm not sure if there is a BMS in there already. With a lame website, it's not going to excite anyone.
