      That will be a big mistake. You batteries will NOT stay balanced. If you want 12 volts from 24 volts get a DC to DC converter.

      Also, as I mentioned previously, the voltage of a 12 volt battery varies quite a bit depending on the charge-discharge cycle. With a DC to DC converter you will have an unvarying 12 volt supply.
