  • Blemished Panels?

Does anyone have any experience with evergreen blemished "B" panels? I found them at www.sunelec.com for $.40/watt less than the normal evergreen models. I was told they are cosmetic blemishes only, and don't affect the output at all. However this was from a salesmen, so not sure if that is true. Has anyone actually tested or used these panels? Would love to save the money if the performance is the same, but couldn't find too much outside information on these panels. Thanks guys.

I would have bought a pallet myself, but they were out at the time I was ready to order. Another acquaintance of mine has several arrays at his house in Fl, and he's had some for several years, and they work as well as the prime, with no troubles.

Same experience as Mike. I bought mine from them in Miami, and have had no problems. My buddy took 8 of them to high country Colorado 3 years ago - no problems.
I was told the less expensive ones are not UL approved. I honestly can't verify that fact, but it was stated by a salesman. He said if they were to be tied to the electric grid, they had to be the more expensive UL approved ones, but they were all maunfactured to the exact same standards and there was no difference in quality.

Mike, have you heard this before?

Yes, and you summed it up pretty well. Blems are cosmetic, not functional problems, and full warranty's.
