hi new to the solar scene so please be gentle lol ,i have a 20w panel that was charging a 12v battery which we use for camping to power some led lights and a radio and charge mobiles occasionally, this worked fine last summer but this year i have noticed that the battery isn't being charged (its not the battery as it charges fine with a charger),the panel produces 20v which runs through a charge controller, it does not even charge if i bypass the controller and go straight to the battery, the panel produces 20v but as soon as it is connected to the battery it drops to whatever the battery voltage is,is it the panel at fault its only 12 months old please help cheers
my battery isn't charging

Perform an ISC and VOC test on the panel.MSEE, PE -
That i swhat is suppose to happen as a panel is a current source not a voltage source. You need to measure current not voltage.
Perform an ISC and VOC test on the panel.Comment

now that you found the problem, what size is the battery? If we knew that, would could help you select the proper panel to charge it because it would have to be a pretty small 12V battery for a 20W panel to be the correct choice.1150W, Midnite Classic 200, Cotek PSW, 8 T-605sComment

so you'd need a 100-120w panel to properly charge that battery1150W, Midnite Classic 200, Cotek PSW, 8 T-605sComment
