Hi there,
I apologize if this was already covered but a search yielded no fruit.
I'm putting together a small home system and I was running some tests tonight.
I have a 12v 50ah battery connected to a 1000w inverter. I then ran an extension cord into the house and plugged it into a 2005 Panasonic 42" Plasma TV rated at 275watts 50-50hz 110v.
While it looked like it was going to turn on it was making an audible noise that does not occur when plugged into grid AC.
I then plugged the extension cord into a power strip that detected a "line fault". That being said I was able to plug a cable box and DVD into the power strip and they ran fine.
The power strip is quite old so I'm not sure I can rely on the error it displayed but I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong?
Any insight would be appreciated and please pardon my ignorance, I'm still learning
Thanks!
Mott
