That is certainly your right to choose.
They have not done a particularly impressive job on either security or user privacy. But it is nice to know that the Facebook option is there.
I personally do not think the Facebook presence is particularly well designed, but I am not volunteering to improve it.

ah, facebook the cookie monster. I've had a page for years and it's good for sharing pics with family and close friends but can really jam up a puter unless opting out of the tracking cookies and blocking all apps.

I had a program that tracks and blocks companies that track me. And within 1 minute with facebook I usually got about 200 companies tracking me.
But this is not all. Once you have an account with facebook and you go to a yahoo page (for example) and facebook has logo/link on the side advertisement within the yahoo page, those 200 companies are still tracking me even though I am not signed in at facebook.
At least yahoo has ....only... about 100 companies Tracking me.

Oh, so Facebook is the only one?

If you are online, you are being tracked. Facebook or not. Get used to it. it is a fact of life unless you are off the internet completely. haven't you noticed when you do a search for something to buy, then you get ads for that something when you are on the internet? It is not just Facebook. It is everything. I'm shocked at the recent brew ha ha over the government tracking everything. Duh, what did you expect?

I posted on Facebook, having a problem finding the new site.

My email subscriptions links were sending me to the 'old' site.

After messing with it a couple days, I just used 'cachecheck' to fix my systems DNS thing. So now I am here
