Question about 15 W Solar Panel for boat batteries

I have a question concerning the new thunderbolt magnum 15 W solar panel kit that I bought to charge boat batteries. I have mounted the panel on the boat shed where the boat is stored. Will any damage be incurred to the panel if I simply disconnect the leads from the battery when I take the boat out to use it?

    thanks,

Leaving a solar panel in full sun, and disconnected from a load, will not damage the solar panel.

This is the concerning part....are you using a charge controller between the solar panel and battery? If not.....your battery will not last very long...
