    Backup power question

Long time lurker, first post. Have 8.3 kW grid tie pv. Live rural southwest Az. 2-3 times per summer 16-30 hour outages. We are end of line so last to get restored. Southwest Az. A/C is a critical load along with well, fridge, and freezer. Have a quote for 24 hour autonomy with Outback 200RE batteries. Anyone have experience with them? Or is diesel genset better option? No propane or natura gas so that's out. I am diesel mechanic by trade so partial to that anyway. And I can always pull fuel from pickup or tractor if needed. Let's hear what everyone thinks. Thanks. Hi Rossleatherguy and welcome to the neighborhood, well is probably cheaper to go with the genny, there are a few around who might chime in with their opinions, cheers

Only one answer that works, get a whole house generator, or forget air conditioning. Your choice.
