What is the battery voltage, and what sort of loads are you trying to run ?

Motors and transformers generally need pure sine inverters. incandescent lamps and toasters can get by with mod-sine inverters.

You want to run an inverter only at about 70-80% of it's max power, and to start the compressor in a fridge, you need a lot of surge capacity.

Need more info such as system specs etc.
Any decent inverter should have a warranty to cover your use period.
Do you need an inverter/charger or just a stand alone inverter?
