    Minimum Gauge wires

    Hi guys,

    What is the minimum gauge wire that i need to hook 2 batteries up in paralell? The amps hours are less then 50 on both batteries @ 12v

    The minimum wire gauge between batteries will depend on the load you are putting on the batteries and the maximum charging current. As a general rule the interconnects need to be at least as large as the wires going to and from the battery bank. This will give you a better chance of keeping the currents through the two batteries equal.

    However, if you are just putting two 12V batteries in series, you should look at and understand the wiring guidelines shown at this site: http://smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html
